Here are the key steps to buying online:
Get an online quote.
It takes just a few minutes—and you'll save 5% just for getting your quote online(1).
Get a Car Insurance Quote
Review your coverage and deductibles.
After reviewing your quote, you can make changes to your coverage and deductible amounts.
Apply for insurance and create a profile.
Once you're happy with your coverage and deductible amounts, click the "Buy Online" button.
On the Sign in to Online Insurance page, enter a valid email address (your user ID).
If you don't already have an Online Insurance account, you'll need to create a personal online profile. This gives you access to a secure area where you can keep your quotes, policies and billing information.
In addition to entering a valid email address, you will need to create a unique password (between 6 and 20 characters) and answer two personal verification questions. (If you ever forget your password and need to create a new one, you can click the "Forget Your Password?" button and our system will ask you one of the two questions to verify your identity.)
Finalize your personal information.
After creating your profile, you'll need to tell us a few additional details about yourself and your vehicle(s). You'll also have another chance to change your coverage.
Tip: Save time by having these documents on hand when you buy.
Complete your purchase.
After accepting the online bind (opens new window) terms and agreement, you can view your payment schedule and select a payment method (Visa or MasterCard). When you're ready, click "Purchase Now" and you're done!
Your policy will become effective on the date you specify. Please note: your coverage can begin no sooner than three days after your purchase. If you need coverage sooner, call us toll-free at 1 877 749-7224.
Accessing Your Application, Policy or Billing Details
After saving your application or purchasing your car insurance, you can come back to view your application, policy or billing information online.
To sign back in to Online Insurance, click on the "Online Insurance" link.
As a result of government-run auto insurance plans, RBC Insurance does not offer car insurance in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and British Columbia.
