MEd in Educational Administration and Leadership

Governance & leadership for professionals.


The Educational Administration and Leadership program is designed for professionals and academics who want to advance their administrative and leadership capabilities within a leadership role. As well as deepen their theoretical understanding of the field. Theory, knowledge, capacities, practices, and related skills are enhanced through the exploration of school change and improvement, organizational behaviour and theory, school governance, leadership roles, with and cultural diversity.

The program is also sensitive to leadership in the context of social justice as well as being consistent with the latest regional, national, and international leadership standards of practice. This area of study will be of particular interest to professionals both in Canada and internationally, as there is a growing global demand for school leaders to acquire quality credentials.

Applicants to the MEd Educational Administration and Leadership are required to hold a Bachelor of Education degree or its equivalent, with a grade point average of at least 3.0 (B, or its equivalent); and are expected to have at least one year of teaching or related professional experience. Applicants are expected to possess a background in the specialized area(s) of study to which they are applying; if not, makeup courses will be required.
