Argument in car leads to deadly crash on Culebra, say police

SAN ANTONIO - Police say they are investigating a deadly crash that appeared to happen while a couple was fighting inside a car on the city's Northwest Side late Sunday night.

According to investigators, the couple was heading east on Culebra Road near Potranco while they argued and hit each other. Shortly after 11 p.m., the male driver lost control, jumped a curb and traveled back across Culebra Road, hitting a guardrail.

The driver was taken to University Hospital where he died about 30 minutes later. His female passenger was also taken to a hospital where her condition remained unknown.

Police said the crash remained under investigation.
