History

Our tradition of service and responding to community needs can be traced directly to Hal and Charlie Peterson whose vision created the Hal and Charlie Peterson Foundation which established a non-profit hospital in Kerrville dedicated to the memory of their father, Sid Peterson.

Since 1990, the hospital has been an independent, private, non-profit 501 © 3 corporation governed by a volunteer board of directors. The Foundation was established in 1992 as the Peterson Regional Health Care Center Foundation and has gone through several name changes to reflect the growth and development of the hospital. In July 2008, the name was changed to Peterson Regional Medical Center Foundation and is a 501 © 3, Type 1 Supporting Organization for Peterson Regional Medical Center (PRMC). View the purpose set forth in the Articles of Incorporation

After almost 60 years in the same location, Peterson Regional Medical Center moved to a new state-of-the-art facility to better represent and serve our communities. Peterson Regional Medical Center is the largest healthcare provider and employer in the Hill Country. Our medical center is the primary source of quality healthcare services in Kerr County and 8 other surrounding counties.
