Chair’s Welcome
Welcome to the Department of Psychology at the University of Waterloo!
Who are we? We are 41 exceptional professors dedicated to outstanding teaching, to world class research, and to high-quality research mentoring. We are 118 terrific graduate students pursuing MA and PhD degrees while also serving as committed teaching assistants (TAs) in our undergraduate courses. And we are an amazing staff devoted to all of our students, undergraduate and graduate.
For those new to UW, on behalf of all of us in Psychology, don’t be a stranger—come and get to know us. And for those of you returning, it’s great to have you back—come and renew acquaintances. The beginning of a new academic year is always an exciting time but it can also be somewhat daunting. If you need help, or if you just have a question, or even if you just want to connect with us, please come on by anytime. You’ll find everyone in Psychology very approachable and ready to help you.
From all of us in Psychology, have a fun and fulfilling 2017-18 academic year!
All best
Colin MacLeod
Have you heard about the student portal?
Information to help you succeed.
Books to buy, clubs to join, places to eat, places to be. Life as a University of Waterloo student is as large as the campus itself.
Log into the student portal today and start using this important new tool.
Advantages of using Portal
The sheer scope of information: One widget even provides students with real-time, crowd-sourced details about line-ups at campus food outlets and other venues;
Customization: Students tailor the portal to reflect their academic and free-time interests, and the connections they want to make with others;
Adaptability and agility: Updates run about every three weeks to work in new ideas, many of which flow from students.
Stay connected, wherever you are!
