Co-Occurring Disorders Treatment

At North Tampa, we provide inpatient care for psychiatric and substance abuse disorders.  We offer specific programs for treating each area and each type of disorder within each area, but we are also aware that life is rarely that simple. While those who come to us may not realize it at the time, more often than not individuals are experiencing symptoms of conditions in addition to the primary problem which has brought them to us.

That is why we emphasize a thorough evaluation. We want to fully assess your view of the problem for which you are seeking help, spend time getting to know you as a complete individual in terms of who you are and what’s important to you, and examine other areas based on your responses and the information you give us, which might indicate other difficulties. In addition, often during treatment individuals disclose other symptoms or things that trouble them.

Our staff believes the evaluation process should always be an ongoing effort and are always listening for new information or asking further follow-up questions that may indicate subsequent difficulties you are struggling with and supplementary treatment goals. This may include co-occurring mental health conditions or substance abuse disorders. No matter what problems may be discovered, our staff is trained and experienced in treating all types of co-occurring conditions. At North Tampa, our goal is to address the various needs each person has when they come to us for help and guarantee that when someone is ready for discharge there is a complete plan that has been formulated so they will be able to continue their recovery and healing no matter what individual or combination of conditions from which they may still be suffering.
