Photography School in Paris

Hi I'm Morgana. I'm 18, from CT and trying to raise tuition money to attend Speos Photographic Institute in Paris, France.

Hello, my name is Morgana. I have lived in Toulouse, France for 2 months and have been accepted to Speos Photographic Institute in Paris, a prestigious professional school. It's also expensive so I'm creating an Indie GoGo to help pay my tuition.

Below is an excerpt from my admissions essay:

"Photography is the art of existence. When asked why I don’t primarily paint or sculpt or sketch, I answer simply “because when you look into the eyes of a painting or a sculpture, no matter how good the artist, you cannot see a soul.” I photograph people. The human race. And in those portraits, I try my best to do their emotions justice. When I look into the eyes of my subject, I see not what they dress like or what they do for a living, but who they are. Who they truly are. And with that, I guide my camera. I convey the sadness, the love, the fear, the passion of the human experience. My dream is to capture as many faces and emotions as I can. To share all those souls and their beautiful stories with the world. Photography is my tool.

As an 18 year old who has a very unusual educational background, including home schooling, attending an all arts high school program, and being surrounded by all forms of art throughout my life. I’ve explored various forms of dance, studied several musical instruments, acted in multitudes of different plays, and spent hours writing poetry and short stories. As I am entering adulthood I find that is it my greatest passion to delve fully into photography. While I still love the rhythm of the African drum, dancing to the point of exhaustion, spilling my heart into paper and pen and attacking any role I am given, when it comes right down to it, I feel the most joy behind the lens of a camera, observing and experiencing the beauty of life and capturing it on film."

I've so far payed my deposit but unless I raise enough money I won't be able to finish my program. My long term goal is to be a National Geographic photographer, so once I finish this program I'm planning to attend a four year college program in global studies.
